What is your ideal deadline, and is it flexible?

5) Style preferences

    • e.g., “No fancy fonts,” “Wide margins,” “Large headings,” etc.
  4. Do you want chapter ornaments, drop caps, or simple layout only?
  5. For print books, do you know what book size / dimensions you want (eg 5.5″x8.5″)

6) Decision-making + communication
Who is the decision-maker signing off on the final files?

7) The “expectations & boundaries” acknowledgements
• ✅ Payment is required in full before work begins.
• ✅ Includes up to 2 rounds of revisions (minor layout tweaks based on the agreed brief).
• ✅ Additional revisions or new direction changes are billed separately.
• ✅ Client is responsible for providing final, proofread text. (Formatting isn’t proofreading.)
• ✅ Refund policy: after work has started, refunds are not offered for change-of-mind or preference shifts; issues caused by technical errors will be corrected.
• ✅ I understand this is formatting only — no proofreading or editing is included.
• ✅ I confirm my manuscript is final and proofread before formatting begins.
Tables: My workflow (Vellum) does not support editable tables. If your manuscript contains tables, they must be converted to a simplified layout (e.g., list format) or, where suitable, inserted as images (print-friendly; may be less readable on ebook/mobile). Complex or table-heavy books may not be a good fit.
Indexes: I do not provide indexing services or add indexes.
